Deep in the Surrey Hills, is the chocolate box village of Shere. It’s prettiness has made it a starring location in Hollywood movies. However it’s not just a place of quaint houses, teashops, and ducks in the stream. The village is also home to some thriving small businesses such as Shere Joinery, located in farm buildings just outside the village. The joinery shop was recently taken over by two friends of mine, Tamsin Collier & Christian Staunskjaer. Christian has long been a successful house builder, while Tamsin designs those beautiful Armorel kitchens , you may remember from an earlier post. Now with their own manufacturing base, with skilled local craftsmen, Adam Truscott and John Prior, they can produce kitchens, staircases, doors and windows to their own specifications and high standards. They invited me down for a look around.
