I’ve often said to clients that you don’t need to show a whole bed to know that you’re in a bedroom. Particularly when shooting a small room, trying to get the whole bed into frame, often makes for a very uncomfortable composition. While there may be good reason to show it all, I find a ‘slice’ of bed, headboard, and bedside table is usually enough to give a flavour of the room. Designers usually put a lot of effort into styling bedsides too, so they are likely to be worth capturing in detail.
