The forever revolving wheel that is the fashion cycle, has of late turned once again towards the American preppy style, with its chinos, Oxford shirts and deck shoes. Tommy Hilfiger has long been promoting this classic look, and has taken advantage of its new found popularity to open a huge new flagship store in Knightsbridge. The interior, is elaborately styled in a way which is almost the opposite of the clean-cut Ivy League look. While the clothing may be a disciplined uniform for a certain strata of society, the store is a riotous mix of taxidermy and architectural salvage. After the stuffed squirrel at the pub I photographed not so long ago, I can detect a definite trend emerging in interiors too.
